Disney and a 18th month old ?

(Reposting from the travel board)

What do I need to know??? We are going in Feb.
I'm going to be posting a lot about this, sorry!!!!

If you rent a stroller, can you bring it back to your room or do you return before you leave the park and get a new one each day.

We plan on staying at one of the buget hotels (All Star Movies) is the bus ride a pain in the bottom?

we go every year and i 've been down in disney with an 18 month old. if you rent a stroller you have to return it before you leave. i wouldn't recommend renting though because the strollers are hard plastic and low to the ground. they can get out of them easily and they can't nap in them. i would just buy a cheap stroller and bring that.
I have stayed at the all star a few years back before we had the timeshare.. it's not bad. the rooms are REALLY small but if it's just one kid you'll be fine.. i stayed there with two. the bus ride from there is pretty long that was my biggest complaint.. it's like the furthest away from the resort and takes like a half and hour to get to the park.. Getting on and off the bus with the stroller is tricky too because you have to fold it up and carry it on.. but definitly doable. We would go to the park in the morning and come back to the resort for lunch and a swim in the pool and then go back.. IMO a whole day at disney with no break is too much for small kids.

Go to Chef Mickeys IMO its the best character dinner at the resort. it's' at one of the hotels.. i forget which one though sorry. FM me if you have any questions.. i know that park like the back of my hand...lol in fact i am here in Disney right now as i type to you!!! LOL..
Pick up a copy of Disneyworld with Kids. it's a great book.. i have read it many times and have lent it out to many .... HTH

Re: Disney and a 18th month old ?

We go often to Disney and have stayed at the All Stars, Pop Century (another value) and the Yacht Club. All of the resorts are great IMO since there is Disney Magic at each and every one. I particularly like the values because they have food court areas and I am an "eat and run" kind of person. Also, the bus transportation is efficient since it's just one bus for that resort (sometimes you share at non busy times). You should also request a room that is closer to the main building. Some are preferred which cost extra but there are some that are close that aren't extra. Just check out the map and then call and ask them to notate your ressie to reflect the building you want to be in.

Like the PP said, Chef Mickey's is AWESOME!. You need to make ADR now though or they will fill up.

Strollers are a pain on the bus, I won't lie. I was soo happy when DS turned 4 and we went stroller free. I would bring something from home that is compact..like a fancy umbrella one that reclines for naps.

We went in February of last year and it was about 40 degrees while we were there. NOT FUN!! I had to buy $13 pairs of mittens so I would recommend packing your own just in case you are there for a cold spell!
