Direct Sales People- Advice

I just got into selling Initials, Inc. products. I love them, and really felt it was a no lose situation for me to get into. Was hoping to just make my $$ back from buying the starter kit, which I have. Now, in a couple of months I will probably have tapped out all my people! Can you share any ideas to broaden your business? Thanks!

Direct Sales People- Advice

I don't do direct sales (although I am looking into a few companies that interest me) but I have some ideas that you might not have thought of...

Your hair salon and/or nail place- ask of you can leave some information, and maybe a sample piece or two so people can have an actual visual of the product.

Facebook- have you set up a business page? Do you talk about the products on your personal page? Put up pictures of the products?

Face to face- do you carry and use the product at all when you go out? See someone looking, try to start a friendly conversation while in a long line and casually mention the product and that you are a rep? I had someone do this to me with a "thirty one" bag. Only thing she didn't do was give me a card with her info, otherwise i might have taken it further and given her business.

Have an open house party- do you know anyone who des direct sales of other products that compliment yours? Both of you hold a party together and invite EVERYONE you know and thell them to bring guests. dont limit the party time too much though, extend it a bit. you might have to go through your pitch 100 times, but if a little flexible with times, maybe more people will come by. Invite your neighbors too!!

Good luck!!

Re: Direct Sales People- Advice

I do selling in both my day job and my business. Not of a product, but of services.

For my business, the facebook page has been the best. It's so easy to share and it makes people aware of what I do, and I've gotten a lot of my clients through it.

I also have a good relationship with my hair salon and though my service (Disney and honeymoon travel) has nothing relaly to do with them , they put out my cards and fliers and since they talk to all their clients, they will give my card to people who mention Disney.

I also sent out a letter when I first started to friends and family outlining what I do. I'm going to send an update letter with my new certifications, etc, just to stay on their minds and let them know I have branched out from where I started.

I think asking for referrals is key, in both my day job and my business, it does work. You can also create a referral program to have constantly or maybe run a promotion in September with free products or a % off offer for people who refer friends.

What is the stuff you're selling?

This is a great idea! I also know I'd be much more inclined to go to a party with several product choices available!!

You could also become a vendor on LIF or LIW.

You could start a blog or youtube channel and review or have friends try and review he prodcuts

Re: Direct Sales People- Advice

Do you do parties?

Often I will go to be supportive if a friend invites me.

While I don't personally like many of these direct sales companies because of high cost, quality and stuff that I generally don't have any need/want for, it is usually a fun night out for me if the host has good food and drink and at the very least, I will buy something small.

Stuff like this I've been to, the guests play games to win "parties" so you can get future sales that way.

Just let them know in the beginning they don't have to participate if they aren't committed to doing a party down the road ;).

Re: Direct Sales People- Advice

Thanks! I am hosting an "Open House" style kickoff party Thursday morning at a park, so my mommy friends can bring their kids and not feel "guilty" about going out at night. I have been utilizing facebook (my personal page) but I don't want to overkill, KWIM?

I did consider becoming a vendor on here, have to look into the cost.

Initials, Inc. sells personalized products such as handbags, organizational items, totes, etc. I will post a link. We do home parties.

Thanks for some of the great ideas! Leaving at the salons is awesome.

The park idea is great.

I wouldn't be afraid to start a business FB page. it lets people who are not your friends follow your business.
