Did your OB recommend the swine flu shot?

I'm going for my first pregnancy appointment next week. I'm wondering if my OB is going to recommend the swine flu. Curious what other doctors are saying??

Yes mine did. They do not have the shots yet. I have decided I will not be getting the shot.

Mine mentioned both reg flu shot and swine flu shot.
Swine flu shot isnt out yet and i wont get it. Too much unknown about it

Im debating reg shot only bc im a teacher and around germs ALOT

Mine recommended the swine flu shot at my last appointment. I'm unsure as to what I am going to do at this point.

I did get the regular flu shot at my last appointment though.

Mine recommended both and I chose not to get either.

my ob actually has the same mentality that i have.. which is that the swine flu is just another virus that got alot of publicity....

Just went last Thursday- no mention of it. I've already decided I won't be getting it. It's too new. Plus, its supposed to come out mid Oct.. I'm due November.. what's the point? I will be getting the reg flu shot though

My doctor is actually AGAINST the swine flu shot..I did however get the regular flu shot

my OB hasnt said anything. WE are getting the regular flu shots monday at our family dr. however, he is NOT recommending the Swine flu shot and he will not be administering it either as he is not convinced it is safe enough. He thinks there is not enough research on it and its being produced so fast that he is not comfortable giving it to patients.

He did recommend that I get the regular flu shot since my baby will be a winter baby.

My OB said that she doesnt recommend it yet, It's not out yet and there isnt enough information out about it, but she will let me know. Either way I am def not getting it. I read in the newspapers how more studies need to be done for pregnant woman and small children...I dont want to be the one to find out what CAN go wrong

Its not out till mid october and theres no guarentee that all offices will get them. Doctors offices have to register for it and the Dept of Health will decide who gets it. My DH works at a hospital and says he's going to be mandated to get it. I don't think it should be mandated b/c there really isn't much info on it.

mine has not mentioned it.

she just told me keep my hands clean and sanitized, and exercise the same cautions I would during any flu season.

My OB recommeded both yesterday at my check up.

I'll def get the regular flu shot but kinda on the fence about the swine flu shot. It makes me a little nervous that it's sooo new.

Yes mine recommended getting it. But they haven't gotten it yet. I am due Nov. 7th and if they get it before then I will get it mainly b/c antibodies can be transferred to baby so I know is protected. I am a sub teacher and many family members are teachers so I want to be protected in case of another outbreak on LI.

The big concern for pregnant women is because of your lungs. They change during pregnancy and are more vulnerable. So if you were to develop pneumonia during pregnancy you can have a harder time fighting the infection b/c the baby is preventing your lungs from fully expanding. I also just got the regular flu shot, but I usually get it every year anyway.......

Mine said he wasn't sure yet. He does not have them yet anyway. By the time he gets it I will not likely be PG anymore anyway.
