Did anyones OB make them take the 1 hour Glucose test early because their prior baby was large?

Did anyones OB make them take the 1 hour Glucose test early because their prior baby was large?
I am 7 weeks and 5 days. My Doctor is sending me for the 1 hour glucose test on Saturday.
He wants to follow me closely, because Ava was 9 lbs. I didn't have GD last pregnancy.
Does this seem insane?????
With my "all day sickness", I don't know if I will be able to keep that stuff down on an empty stomach...
Did anyone else have to do this??

I was told if I ever got PG again, it was VERY likely. I had an 11 1/2 pound baby, 2 weeks early. I was never GD, but they checked me every stinking week because he was so big.

Not me, but my friend had to do this. Her first son was an ounce shy of 9lbs and she did not have GD. She didn't have it with her 2nd son either, but he too, was large--9lbs 7oz.

No... my first was 9 lbs 7 oz and 3 weeks early  (I did not have GD with this pregnancy).
However, I did fail my 1-hour in my second pregnancy and passed the 3-hour.
