yes, I believe I had one a year ago. It wasn't that bad. A little pinch and it's over. I believe some AF like cramps afterward.

Don't worry you'll be fine. I'm having another one done soon along with a water sono.

good luck!

I did. Before my ivf cycle my new re did it along with a mock transfer . It is also called uterine scratching. It is an extra technique to help get pregnant and also sends for testing .

Did anyone have a biopsy of the uterine lining?

I did during my last FET cycle(it was done around day 8 or 9). It was quick no pain just feels weird. My RE suggested having it done since my previous FET cycle the month before was a BFN; he said it helps the embryo implant since it gives it a cozy grove to adhere to. I did have success that cycle and currently 19 weeks pregnant.

Did anyone have a biopsy of the uterine lining?

I had one years ago and I might be in the minority but it was the worst!!!!!

I have had tons of different tests and procedures over the years and that was the worst for me.

Did anyone have a biopsy of the uterine lining?

I had an endometrial biopsy a few months ago. For what it's worth, my OB told me that the HSG was "a three advil test" and the biopsy was "a two advil test." So the biopsy was supposed to be less painful.

For me, the HSG was a breeze compared to what I was expecting. Uncomfortable but not too bad. At all. This is perhaps what led me to become cocky and reckless. I figured since that was the worst of the two, and I did fine, that the biopsy would be a breeze. I forgot to take any advil and wasn't too concerned about it.

For me, and I stress that everyone's experience is different, it was a difficult procedure. Well not difficult, but much more painful than I was expecting (but again, I went in pretty cavalier). I ended up having a bit of a vaso-vagel response, where I got all sweaty and faint-feeling. I had to take it easy in his office for awhile afterwards.

I'm trying my best not to scare you, because I HATE reading horror stories about the various procedures. I was up the night before the HSG reading story after story and it totally freaked me out. I was a nervous wreck, which only made the whole experience worse.

The endometrial biopsy is over very quickly. It starts out just like a pap. Then there's one or two deep pinches, and it's over. Just try to relax, and take 3 Advil. Confirm with your doctor first if that's ok, of course.

If your doctor says you should have it, then you just gotta go with it. That's been my philosophy. Just try to relax and think happy thoughts and it really is over very quickly! Let us know how it goes!

Re: Did anyone have a biopsy of the uterine lining?

Ughhh okay. Thanks for the replies. I am kinda leaning towards not having it. The reason is, I went to the RE because I had two miscarriages and felt I wasn't ovulating now. The RE says he believes I am ovulating, but wants to do the work-up to determine if there's an issue causing the miscarriages. However, he warned that we may very well find no answers since my losses were very different from one another. I also know I have PCOS and fully believe that is why I lost them.

He said the biopsy would be around day 24 of my cycle and that if I get that it would be bad for a forming pregnancy, that they can test beforehand but it might not necessarily be able to tell 100% if I'm pregnant by then.
So I could wait a month and not try this cycle... I don't really want to do that. I kind of had my heart set on this being "my month" and if there's something wrong with my lining I don't even know if that would change anything treatment-wise right now.

I might just ask to not have that test, which he seemed like he would probably be okay with. Or I could wait and have it next month. I don't know, I'm very on the fence. It seems pretty invasive and I'm already going to be getting a water sono next cycle.

ETA: I'm already getting a full work-up of blood for clotting factors, all genetic issues, will be monitored for ovulation, etc. so I feel like those things are more geared toward how to handle a future pregnancy, while this test would more likely just explain why it happened... If that makes sense!

I had it a few times for testing, therapeutic "scratch" to improve implantation before ET, and tissue collection for co-culture.

I'll be honest - it's not comfortable. Of all the procedures I had done, this one was the most painful (because you're awake for it) but, with that said, it wasn't totally horrible. Definitely take the 800mg of ibuprofen they recommend an hour before, and, if you have someone to drive you and you're super nervous, you can always take a xanax or a valium to help with that part. It's literally about 10 seconds of teeth-grinding and then it's over.
