And at what age was it done?

My neighbors daughter has this and they told her it usually goes away on its own around 5...if not then they do the surgery.

My DD had an umbilical hernia, and they said if it didn't go away, she would need surgery. But it went away. I asked about the surgery and they said it was very simple, and they would just put in a tiny piece of mesh to hold everything in.

We consulted with a surgeon when DD turned 2.5. DD's hernia was 2-3mm. We go back, a year later, at 3.5 for it to be checked again. If it is smaller then we'll just let it close and keep watching, if bigger or not closing then we were told surgery could be at 4 or 5.
