DH got into an accident today and it took over 5 hrs for the police to arrive!!!!!!
It happened before 3:30 on the LIE in Queens and he is just finally on his way home now.
He must have called the police 5 times to make sure someone was still coming.
He was driving home and somebody in a white box truck came right over into DH's lane and hit his truck and kept driving. Scratching and denting the entire side of DH's 5 month old truck. He didn't even stop.
DH kept honking at him and screaming and the guy acted like he didn't see him. Then DH put his truck across his lane and stopped him.
He finally pulled over and said to DH "How do you know I am the one that hit you" Dh said "Maybe because I saw you and the white paint from your truck is all on the side of mine!!!!!!!"
What an jerk off
Thankfully DH is ok but what a day

Wow! That is crazy!!! I can't believe it took the police that long and I can't believe someone would deny being part of the accident.

so sorry to hear this.
But I'm pretty sure all the cops were on 135 today making sure that no one was getting home too quickly.
I must have seen about 5 cars on the way home today.

I waited 2 hours in the cold after Bell Blvd wrecked Jake's mustang
I gave up and went home- and filed a report the next day
my insurace company even won against the city! I got half my deductible back yesterday!
that sucks- but at least he is ok

That stinks!! Unfortunately, if there are no injuries, accidents are very low on the list of priorites for the cops. I am glad your DH is ok though!

Glad your DH is okay ...
And this is true, they get dispatched by priority... and if calls continually come in of a higher priority it will be pushed down the chain.....
