Desperate for Ebay Help
OK - DH ordered something from a user with a lot of positive feedback at the end of June. DH didn't have Paypal account so he paid with personal check. Seller cashed check, doesn't send product. DH gives him a few more days and emails. Has to send three emails before he gets a response and the seller only says - ok - what was the item # - I'll look into it. This has been going on since end of JUNE!!! Seller is NO LONGER on Ebay!! Ebay is NOT helping. They emailed DH that he could pay a mediator and DH was like "Why should I pay - I already did!!!"
We cannot find any phone # to call Ebay!!!
The Seller address and phone # is a business in Miami. DH keeps calling the business - no answer. Sent him a final email tonight saying if he didn't get product, he's filing report with Miami police!
What the heck should we do? I think it's bull that Ebay is not helping him! He tried to fill out one of those online dispute forms and just keeps getting a stupid message saying that since it's past 30 days, from the auction, they won't do anything!!!
Please help!!

check? hmmm. look at the deposit info on the back of the check and try to reach the seller that way

Wow....I would probably e-mail Ebay again and see if someone else can help you. I thought you had more than 60 days to dispute a sale. I would definitely go ahead with contacting the Miami police or maybe the BBB in Miami.

The same thing happened to my DH. He paid for the mediator and they did settle the dispute. In fact, the FBI called our house to tell us that we were not the only one's that got jipped...apparently this guy did it to lots of people. We never did get our money back, & it was like 300 dollars or so.

This is why you never pay by personal check. Call your bank and see if they can do anything for you.
I only accept pay pal, money orders or certified checks and I will only pay by using any of the 3.

What does that do for you? Is it easier to get the money back?
I mean, if this guy has disappeared, would she still have lost the money?

Paypal is good because you can fight through them....
Money Order and Certified check is good because there isa record of them....with the post office or the bank...and you have a receipt
