It is tremendously heart wrenching. The sons addiction and just everything is hard to watch. Its so sad, I am trying to do work while watching to alleviate watching it and putting all my emotions into it.

so sad, i went through something similar with my dad almost 7 years ago ... it never gets easier and my heart was breaking for them  
in the background of the after the catch, both Josh and Jake were smoking (real cigarettes) ... I hope they can kick it! 
i wonder if Jake completed treatment and is sober?
they have a great outlook - they will be fine

Shortly after Phil dies I beleive Jake was arrested for drunk driving, so not sure if he is sober.
I was also surprised that they were both smoking.
The whole story was sad but they kind of dragged it out and then in the last 3 minutes he died.

I read an article where Josh said that Jake went to rehab and is now sober. I also noticed on last weeks After the Catch that Josh was smoking an Electric Cigarette...so maybe that is what you saw tonight too. I have not seen the episode yet. Electric Cigarettes do release what looks like smoke.

I loved Phil from the start and it was so nice to them all after the catch and they way they were all teling stories. I did not get to watch the whole thing, but from what i saw i feel that Josh is handleing the whole situation so much better than Jake.

After the Catch was more gut wrenching than Deadliest Catch. But next week's episode looks like it is going to be tough too.
It really does look like the boys are doing ok. I really that they are. It seems like they have the drive to continue in their father's footsteps.

Did I understand correctly when they were interviewing the cameraman, that they have Phil dying actually on tape?
Josh was on the Tonight show a couple of days ago, says Jake is out of rehab and doing well and that he is trying to quit smoking using the mechanical cigarettes.

I don't think they have the actual moment it happend, last night's episode seemed to show that he was in surgery or something like that when he died. It looked as though the cameraman was with the boys. But I could be wrong.
I think they were planning on not recording any of the time in the hospital but Phil requested that the camera stay on to show an ending. When I heard that I thought he knew he wasn't going to make it. Then when he asked Josh for his lucky necklace it really made me believe he knew that it was the end.

OMG, I watched these episodes tonight and so much!
It was so sad so see the ending of Phil's life and the amazing impact he had on his friends. It was nice to see how many tributes they did to him and how they did a bunch of things in memory and honor of Phil. I wanted to watch the Tribute to Phil, but it was midnight and I just couldn't watch anymore
