DD won't let me read to her anymore

Any tips? She is 13 months. She knows and can say a bunch of words, and most of them are from teaching her from books. She used to let me read to her all the time. Now Ms. Independent won't let me read to her anymore. She LOVES books, but she likes reading them herself with baby babble, half the time upside down. I want her to keep learning - any suggestions on getting her to let me read to her?

when we read, Josh has to hold a book and I have one of my own. We take turns reading and pointing in our books.

Sounds EXACTLY like my DD - minus the fact that she says words. My DD only says Dada and Uhoh at 13 months.

Usually she'll sit in my lap with the book and point to things. I just name them. I let her turn the pages, etc. I'm not reading the story but at least naming what she's pointing to.

She used to point stuff out to me when I said "where is the duck", etc. but now she goes into a zone and flips away, pretending to tell a story. I'll try to just point things out on the pages for now until she lets me read to her again. Thanks!
