DD found a new fave food- her bib

She's 8mos, no teeth yet. Is this because she's about to get some teeth? When we feed her, she usually eats like a champ, but at some point gets distracted by the tag on the bib or the bib itself and starts putting that in her mouth, making it hard to feed her. And when you force it out to actually give her food instead, of course, she fights you :)

So last night when she starts this, DH takes her bib off to take away the distraction. and then she ate like a champ for another few minutes until she was probably full of baby food.

I'm sure this must have happened to other babies - is this a phase, or teething related? Just wondering.. I am thinking of risking the feeding without a bib for a while just to make things smoother!!

sounds teething related to me. The gums tend to get itchy when they are teething and the bib or a damp washcloth helps relieve the itch.

I supposed my DD would probably mess with her bib BUT we make sure there are lots of things going on. We have a suction cup toy on her tray that she can play with but can't get to her mouth since it's stuck on the tray. We also put little pieces of food on the tray so she can practice picking them up and trying to self feed. Once in a great while, she'll tug on her bib to get it off but it's pretty rare. Oh yeah....we also sing to her during meals. It's a whole horse and pony show....
