daycare help please - farmingdale/melvile, plainview/bethpage, massapequa/seaford, port washington

I will be 38 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Reading these boards made me realize that I'm behind when it comes to finding a daycare for September. Can anyone recommend a place in Eastern Nassau County or Western Suffolk? I live on the Nassau border of Farmingdale. I work in Port Washington. I'm so scared about daycare, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Please FM me if you feel more comfortable with that. Thanks!

Here's a NYS website you can use to search for daycare in your area

That's a pretty big geography.

I have personal experience with daycares in:
Kiddie Academy
Kindercare
Northport VA Hospital

My family & close friends have used:
Village Pre-school, Northport
Island Kids, Northport

all located in witin the township of Huntington. If that's where you're looking, feel free to FM.

You didnt ask for it but my 2 cents is to get a daycare close to home rather than work.

Good luck! Also no need to panic. There are plenty of daycares that will take infants as soon as you need them. The ones you'll have problems with are the non-profits, employee daycare centers or private co-op daycares.

Thanks for your help! You definitely made me realize I needed to be more specific. Northport is really too far for me.

There is Primetime in Farmindale - in the Home Depot shopping center... we checked it out and its clean secure etc .

There is also Calling all kids again in Melville - they are moving to a new location around the corner from where they currently are. Its really adorable in there...and I think the new location will be even better.

DD is in Prime Time and we just love them! I really can't complain - one minor issue in almost a year. FM if you want more info, but that place rocks! They don't discount on price at 1 year though, they hold out until 3 years old.

We did check out Calling All Kids again and almost went with them, but Prime Time is so close to work and home.

We also used SmileyD's mom and DD did great there as well!

We checked out Munchinland and really did not like anything about it - tiny rooms for the $$$$. There are much better options for the same cost in the same vicinity
