Custom Bookshelves

Has anyone ever had custom bookshelves built? I am looking to do that perhaps in our den and I am wondering costs and who you used.

Any info or pics would be appreciated.

This is Peabody's husband. I have done both built-ins and in shop fabrications that were brought to then installed on site. The built-ins will never come out. They are permanent unlike the shop built units which are removable. The cost is all relative to the size, material and finish, whether it will be painted or stained. Stain grade means better lumber which means better joinery which equals considerably more money. I would recommend that you hire a decent carpenter.
