curious: how many of you have mittelschmerz pains (pains around ovulation time)

I ask bc I have always had these pains since I was little and just found out they actually have a weird name....I used the pains the last time to get pregnant and we got pregnant on the 2nd month of trying....but i bought opk's (but I didn't end up needing them) just in case the pains weren't accurate in telling me when I released an egg....I used these pains this time too and this is our first month of trying for dc#2 so we'll see what happens...

but I was just curious if you do experience these pains like I do, do you still use opk's or do you just bd at the time that you experience these pains?

This is my first month of getting them. The only reason I know for sure that's what they were is that I am using the CBEFM and on the day I got the pains, I also had a peak reading.

I usually 99% of the time get the pain's. It's funny cause my girlfriend tells me that I know my body so well cause I could always tell when I'm ovulating and from what side and she never could! But thanks for the name of the pains. I never knew there was one.

I get those pains too, sometimes they last a few days, so i need to use opk...i never knew they had such a fancy name!

i get them, but not all the time. the month i got pregnant with DS, i felt a very sharp pain on the left side the day after my positive OPK.

with this one, didn't have the initial sharp pain i've had before, but i was sore in my ovary area - again on the left side - during the entire 2WW.

I get them. They usually last 12-24 hours.

I also use OPK's just so I know when they are coming. I can usually get one night of BD prior to the pain and then BD the next 2 days.

I get them. It's a little different than AF cramps. At first I didn't know what they were... now I should probably track what day they happen!!

can anyone tell what the difference is in the cramps? is it lighter more internal then menstral cramps? I wonder if i have been feeling them and never knew what that was.

we aren't officially trying yet, just playing the whatever happens, happens game, but yes i have these. some months worse than others. if we're not preggo by january then i will make sure we bd every day that i have the mittelschmerz pains. until then we're just having fun.

For me it's not like period cramps. It's kind of like a tightening feeling I get around my ovaries. IDK
I'm sure everybody well be a little different! Also when I get this feeling it's usually accompanied by a clear sticky discharged. (Sounds gross; Sorry)

OMG I get them!!! It feels like your walking on egg shells! The pain intensifies with each step you take! That is the best way to explain it!

i def get these too. its significantly different than AF cramps. its def a tightening feeling in my lower abdomen. so far ive only felt it on 1 side (only had 1 month of O so far since coming off BCP).

last month i felt it right before bed and i laid down and it felt like one long cramp for about a half hour. almost like a muscle spasm.

I always did, but now with my DC I guess i"m so distracted I don't notice them anymore

i never did until I came off the pill, but boy did that scare the crap out of me! I thought there was somethng wrong...then I researched and hey...not so bad! haha
