Crockpot?

Don't really think this should be on the RECIPE board because I'm not asking about a recipe, but if it should be - sorry!!

Who has a crockpot? I'm thinking of getting one and want to know if it's "worth it"...any feedback would be appreciated!! Chat Icon

If you like to have leftovers, get a nice big one! I had a 5 quart one & just upgraded to a 7 quart. Stainless steel, from BJ's for $32 w/ tax!!!!

Re: Crockpot?

I do not have one but know several people who do and they all say it's worth it. I am considering getting one too. Plus, I have seen tons of slow cooker recipe books and they look yummy!

Re: Crockpot?

Chrissy...

TOTALLY worth it, even if you only use it when you are home on the weekends.

I've made homemade sauce, soup, stews, desserts in it. I've prepped the night before, stuck it in the fridge, then in the crockpot the next day....PERFECT.

Ribs....all it takes is a bottle of BBQ sauce and a few hours and the meat is falling off the bones.

It's great because you can use a lesser quality (and cheaper) cut of meat because the slow cooking process makes it SO tender and yummy.

Also great for entertaining...warm dips can be kept warm in a smaller one or a big one that comes with seperate smaller pots.

Re: Crockpot?

Definitely get one. I, absolutely, love mine. As a matter of fact, I just bought myself a bigger one. I use it at least twice a week, sometimes more.

YUM! Sue can you send me these recipes....they sound great!!!!

Sure-

Take boneless skinless chicken thighs sprinkle with onion powder, and McCormicks garlic/herb seasonings- ( it is a dry seasoning found in the spice aisle). Then put in crockpot, add 1 bottle of Ken's fat free raspberry walnut/ pecan dressing- not sure if it says pecan or walnut on bottle, poor on top, add a little water cover and cook on low 8 hours or until done.
The pot roast one I will get from my sister and willl e mail it to you.
