Cramping in 2nd Tri

How many of you experienced cramping in their 2nd Tri?

I had them last night on and off. I woke up at 1am becaues I couldn't sleep because of them. I even went on here and lurked around but didn't see too many posts on cramping (surprised) in PG forum.

Sometimes the feeling is like an AF cramp on one side and sometime like a pulling. The pulling feeling would last a couple of seconds.

Please tell me this is all normal. I have my next appt with my doctor on the 21st and I will definetely tell her about this.

The same thing happend to me. It started for me at about 18 or 19 weeks. I had a appt with that dr. because the cramps felt like severe menstral cramps. The dr checked me and told me it was Totally normal. They told me that a growth spurt was about to prob happen. They recommened me to lay down and put a pillow under my legs. And to drink plenty of water. And about a week later I had a growh spurt. I have noticed that if I don't drink enough water I get cramps.

So I recommend to drink tons of water!!!!
It never hurts to call your dr if you are concerned.

i have definitely had cramping. last wednesday night into thursday the cramps woke me up from sleep at 4:15am! it was like no other pain i've ever experienced, on either side of my uterus. i'm thinking they had to be round ligament pains. lo and behold, when i got out of bed that morning i had done some serious "popping". i think pain/cramping is common during growth spurts.

ETA: i was 17 weeks when that happened.

Round ligament pain...especially around 20 weeks...there is so much growth at that point. I double check with my Dr at my appointment last Monday and he said it was definitely round ligament pain. He said that it is usually gone before you start the 3rd trimester. How I knew that it was round ligament pain and not anything more serious was b/c it was on one side. Babies tend to lie on one side more than the other.

yes!!! and it literally started 2 days into my 2nd tri! I asked the pros (the experienced mommies at work) and they said totally, totally normal!

I'll be in my 17th week this coming wed. On top of the growth spurt I'll be getting I read online that the cramping can also be felt more with people who've had surgery in that area. I had surgery in December where they removed my left tube becaue of an ectopic pregnancy. So I could also be feeling the scar tissue stretching on that side along with everything else. I got pregnant right after in January so it's still probably sensitive in that area.
Stupid me also did not drink enough water yesterday.

I have it, and I am 25 weeks. Not severe, but definite menstrual-type cramping. I think it is pretty normal.

I get cramps whenever I don't drink enough water. Drink lots and lots of water!

I had one episode of cramping in my second trimester so far. But I do have that round ligament pain and that's a killer

i had a little cramping about a week ago. I'm sure its perfectly normal!
