Counter Depth Fridge

I really wanted to get the french door fridge, but the more I am looking into cabinets, the more I think I want the counter depth..and thats just side by side.

Does it bother you when fridges stick out? I am not sure what to do. If money were not an issue, which would you do? Thanks!

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

Yes. My frig hangs out over 10 inches and yes it bothers me, and we are in the process of ordering additional cabinets for above and around the frig, making it more noticable im sure. Right now its not in the budget to replace it but i would totally get counter depth next time. To me it just looks odd that my frig is basically just in the middle of the room.

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

Not sure if you're set on a particular fridge, but there are a lot of cabinet depth french door fridges. I am actually looking for a regular depth french door and find my choices very limited. Good luck!

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

WE took out the studs behind the refrigerator so that it wouldn't stick out as much.

we were able to do that because we gutted the whole kitchen.

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

We have the French doors on top and freezer on the bottom, standard size frig by Kitchen Aid. We love it. It holds so much, so roomy.

Have you ever know anyone to have the counter depth frig? I knew someone that had it and if you have a big family or plan on a big family or if you like to entertain, I wouldn't get it. It really doesn't hold that much at all. JMO!

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

We just replaced out counter depth side-by-side GE Profile fridge with a counter depth french door GE profile fridge. It is still wrapped in plastic, so I will let you know how it is once it is installed. But I never had a problem with my counter depth side-by-side fridge.

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

I have a regular size french door fridge, we were able to bump out the wall behind it so it does not stick out at all and is flush with the cabinets.

It really bothers me when a fridge sticks out a lot past the cabinets, but i can imagine how small a counter depth fridge is so if you need the room you should get the bigger one

size is def a concern, but we will have another fridge downstairs, so this will help.

Re: Counter Depth Fridge

I have the GE counter Depth Fridge with the french doors on top & freezer on bot. It is alot smaller inside. I suggest going to PC Richards and comparing the diff. models in person. If your fridge is going to be at the end of the wall I suggest getting a reg fridge but if it is between cabinets the flush look definetly looks better if you dont mind giving up the space.
