Cough
So DD has a cough and is sneezing, I went to the ped yesterday and he thinks its allergies, I don't...her cough has gotten more persistent today...Ped wanted me to give her a tiny bit of benadryl and I don't see it helping...do you think I should go back to the ped today???? Or wait it out until tomorrow...she has no fever but seems out of it, not cranky just out of it, but that may be the doing of the benadryl...

Re: Cough
A persistent hacking cough about a month ago was the first sign of my DS allergies (which he has never had before). We did the "benadryl test" and it immediately helped with the cough.
The next thing though was his eyes swelled up so much from the allergies that they actually were swollen shut. The benadryl didnt help that at all, so after some trial and error with the pedi, he is on Singulair and the coughing and eye irritation has stopped.

Re: Cough
the benedryl might be making her out of it... I would probably call the pediatrician or wait until tomorrow and see how she seems.

Re: Cough
DS is almost 20 months. The pedi said that allergens seem to be unseasonably high the past week or two and hes seen a spike in cases of allergies.
Like I said, it was a lot of trial and error. He was such a mess last week, we literally were at the pedi 4 times. At first I didnt believe it was allergies either bc but the Dr was right, lol. I say take DC back, cant hurt.

Re: Cough
DS has had a cough on and off for about a month. He'll get better for a few days, but then it comes back. I think it keeps coming back though b/c he's in daycare. It bothers him when he's coughing, but other than that, he's in great spirits. I took him to the pediatrician, but he said it was just a cough and at that age, there isn't anything they can really do. The doctor said to just use saline drops in his nose if he needs them and to use the humidifier. It can take a few weeks for the cough to clear up. I hope she feels better soon.
