Costco cakes? Anyone order recently?
I just put in the order for DS's birthday cake from Costco, and it looks like you have no choice of filling anymore. Is this a recent change? I know before you could choose the filling, but now it was just vanilla w/ vanilla cake, chocolate w/ chocolate cake.
Do they ever mix cake and filling?

Ohh, really? Yes, they definitely used to let you mix and match! I was planning on going this week to order one for DD's party -- I'm glad to know in advance that this has changed! Which Costco did you go to?

Nesconset--I wonder if it's different at different locations? It looked like the order form had changed though--there was no option for filling anymore! I almost changed to a BJs cake, but I like the taste of the Costco ones much better.

I just looked at the order form at my local Costco in NJ and it is the same way. When I asked an employee I was told that they no longer mix and match. I was really disappointed as I wanted to get what we had last year for my son's birthday party.
ETA:
Our choices were:
Vanilla cake with cheesecake filling and white butter cream
Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate frosting
Carrot Cake scored with carrots
24 cup cakes

We recently got a BJs cake for Landons birthday. It was the same thing there for a full sheet. We ended up getting a half sheet and could pick and cake and the filling. It ended up being more than enough cake too.

We just got one last weekend and there was no choice...white cake with vanilla, chocolate cake with chocolate, or carrot cake...the white cake with vanilla was delicious though!

Julie, I saw your pics, and Landon's was adorable! I'll keep BJs in mind for next time. I think I'm going to have 1/2 the sheet cake left anyway.
