Coram & Gordon Heights residents - sex offender cluster!
On the shaded streets of Coram and Gordon Heights, 39 convicted sex offenders live within a half-square-mile area. Fifteen reside on one block alone, and 11 properties house multiple offenders.
Of the 39 offenders, the state designates 17 as Level 3, the most dangerous classification and the category law enforcement regards as most likely to commit new crimes. One sodomized three boys younger than 8. Another abused two girls, 4 and 6.
The remaining offenders are Level 2 and were convicted of such crimes as the rape of a 14-year-old girl and aggravated sexual abuse of a 2-year-old girl. In all, 31 of the 39 offenders had victims aged 16 or younger.
A Newsday analysis shows that the cluster in Coram and Gordon Heights is by far the highest concentration of Level 2 and 3 sex offenders on Long Island. It lies mainly along Homestead Drive and Norfleet Lane and totaled as many as 56 offenders in June. The next largest group is 22 such offenders in an area 1-mile wide in Hempstead.

we have know about this for quite some time the offenders are mostly clustered in a few houses that are being run as boarding houses. the dodson houses.
if you live in coram and are concerned about things going on in the area why dont you come down to a meeting of the coram civic association, the next meeting is october 23rd at 730 pm at the firehouse on middle country road.
the association is fairly new, having only been around a few months, but has been dealing with alot of the issues in coram that residents bring to the meetings.
the only way to fix the problems is to get involved.

I don't live in Coram, I just thought that I should post it here for the ladies who do. 
Good going, getting involved. I see in the article, they say that part of the reason these things happen is because no one knows, or is complaining. The civic association is a great start.
