Convertible Crib - What Age Do You Convert to the toddler bed

Ella will be 18 months next month and she is about to climb out of her brib. What age did you or should you covert the crib to the toddler bed? Tia!

I think you could do it now- I am always worried about what could happen if the baby falls from the crib trying to get out.

I should add, though, that DH and I got a convertible crib, and went from the crib to a twin bed. DD is big for her age and she didn't seem comfortable in the crib any longer. Also, even though the mattress was in the lowest spot, it was higher than we were confortable with. DD's mattress and box spring are on the floor for now.

i think once they start making an effort to get out you should convert. DD is 2 and makes no effort. DH even forgot to put the side up a few times and she didn't even realize it or try to get out.

I didn't change him into another bed until he was 24 months. If he tried to get out, I would have changed him sooner.

My DS is 22 months and still going strong in the toddler bed, but he doesn't seem to have any plans to climb out at all.
