Contact lens wearers - Question

Does anyone wear one touric and one regular lens.

The eye doctor wanted me to wear a touric and a regular. I had the regular one in my left and the touric in my right. I have never felt so uncomfortable wearing a lens. I wanted to rip it out of my eye. I had it in for 30 min and it was 30 min of pain.

He was a jerk. He got mad that I did not want to wear the lens and insisted I wear it for a week. He insisted on telling me how much better I see and 30 min is not enough time. I couldn't take it another minute, I told him if he does not get it out I will and hand it to him and he could put it where the sun dont shine. I want my prescription for my normal regular everyday lens and that is my final answer.

So he very unhappily wrote me my prescription and told me that it's very rare someone would not like to wear lens like that. I told him I felt like I was seeing half the world in HD and half the world in regular. I hate it.

So for all you half touric and half regular wearers how do you feel about them. I don't think I could do it.

It's the only way I can see clearly - I couldn't imagine going back to a non-touric lens in my astigmatic eye.

They do take some getting used to. I've been wearing it for a few years now - I don't notice a difference (unless the lens shifts).
