CIO is working for us!

Oh my, I am so happy right now!

DD is over 4 months old & has only been sleeping in her swing (I've posted about my frustration numerous times). Ped. said it was time to use CIO & we were all for it. We started Saturday night & Abby cried for 1 hour 20 minutes & then fell asleep- we went in a few times (once after 10 minutes, then after 20 minutes, etc.) to put the paci back in & turn on her crib aquarium. I had to turn off the monitor- I couldn't listen to her crying- I wanted to go in a hold her, of course, but we stuck with it. The next night it was 1 hour 10 minutes. Tonight it was 1/2 hour & she wasn't really screaming- tossing & turning, playing with her toes, sucking her thumb, then ta-da! Sleeping! Woohoo! We're getting there! Naps have been a little tougher but we're working on it.

I keep looking at the video monitor- I really never thought she'd get into that crib! Good luck to Diane & all the other moms struggling with crib sleeping. I know a lot of moms are against it, but CIO was the way to go for us!

Well done! The hardest part of CIO is just sort of detatching yourself from the crying. You do need some support when you do it for the first few nights as it does make you fee like your heart is bleeding. But it does work. We started when Noah was 6 months old and since then we have never had a problem with him sleeping!!

CIO worked for us as well and we started at 2 1/2 months which i know a lot of people will say is too early. It last three nights too, but finally they slept through. My one thing was if they cry to the point they started choking then i picked them up, otherwise they stayed in the crib. It never even got to that point.

so glad she is starting to sleep in the crib. I went back to work on Monday and will be off in 2 weeks for Xmas break. that si when we are going to put them in their cribs and see what happens.
My MIL is watching them during the day and have been napping in a crib together she got as a hand me down...so Im hoping that will help with my transition. I noticed Christopher does better with that sleep positioner, so he is NOT wiggling around so much.

Re: CIO is working for us!

Thanks ladies!

I'm finding that naptime in the crib is harder than nighttime. Anyone else have that problem?
