Christmas season is coming earlier this year..
I'm not complaining.. I LOVE Christmas season.. but it seems like it's starting earlier this year..
I'm in the Philadelphia area, and yesterday was family bowling day. On the way to the alley, hubby and I heard 3 christmas songs on the radio, and saw the christmas street signs up (you know those garland type light up thingys that are attached to the light posts?)
I've also received a toy catalog from Target and KB toys..
The Kmart commercials about christmas ornaments have been running for over a week now..
And my neighbor has up their tree..
I"m like hmm.. it beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!
seriously, though Hubby and I were thinking it may have to do with the bad economy.. since stuff is real tight this year, the retailers want to jump into it earlier to give more time to people for shopping.. so they start putting out little inneundos to make u feel christmas'y..
anyone else noticed that Christmas got here three weeks before Thanksgiving?

The mall is all decked out and Santa is there. It really annoys me!
I love that either Nordstroms or Nieman Marcaus last year refused to decorate until after Thanksgiving!
In Kohls yesterday, they were playing Christmas music! It drove me nuts!

I hear you as for all the malls by me are decked out and Santa is set up already. All stores have Xmas gear out and waiting. A few stores were playing xmas music already.
I don't mind it because it gets me in the holiday spirit to get moving.

LOL I'm ready. I already finished Christmas shopping for everyone but DH.  And I cannot wait to put my 2nd tree up this yr now that the formal living room is finally done.

I wish the music and decorations would hold off until after Thanksgiving, but as far as the toy books coming out I say why not.....It's more time to save for the presents and to start looking for sales on stuff children want

Usually I get annoyed when I see everything coming out so early, but I guess I understand this year with the economy being so bad. I don't mind, though- I was so caught up in the election and now I don't know what to do with myself! And the sooner I get my shopping done, the happier I'll be.

I KNOW!! I was walking in yesterday and saw it an was like whatt??
but in their defense they also had up a halloween tree.. (orange lights ) and a fourth of the july tree (red white and blue lights)... so maybe they are one of those every season tree people.. lol

As long as it's after Halloween, I'm okay with it. I worked for Hallmark for 4 years. Besides the fact that I appreciate the holidays a lot more now that I don't work retail, their ornaments come out in JULY. I was sick of Christmas by October when I worked there.

One of my neighbors has Christmas lights up and a big candy cane on the lawn already. A few houses down, another neighbor still has Halloween blow ups on the lawn.

Everything was out around this time last year and the year before. Target always has xmas out before halloween. I don't really think it has anything to do with the economy.

I love love love the christmas season and don't mind it starting early but having a christmas tree up in your house before Thanksgiving is a bit much. I've actually started christmas shopping. Want it out of the way so all I have to do in December is wrap everything.
