Chimney/Masonry Work...Need Recos...

We need to have some work done to our brick chimney... Prob re-pointing, maybe some add't work as we have bulging areas (oy vey!).

I got 2 recos on her previously but both companies want $$ just to come out for an estimate (between $50-125). I hate the idea of paying for an estimate and then not using them.

Please share your referrals - preferably those that don't charge for estimates

I had written this on a post of Ang-Rich's over the summer...

We had our chimney re-pointed by Chimney Doctors - they gutted our entire chimney and did the re-pointing, re-did the flashing and installed a stainless steel sleeve. We were VERY pleased with their work and the price wasn't bad. I don't know how much the pointing was specifically, as it was all done together, but they were the most professional out of the 5 companies we had look at our chimney.

That's so weird b/c i called them - I called the 800 # though - and they were the ones that told me $125 for an estimate!

I got the reco from you from an old FM...

I will call the 631 # you gave me, that is just weird. I'm going to say I've heard you haven't charged others so what's the deal?
