check from insurance comp????
So about 3 weeks ago I got a $10 check from my health insurance company.
Now today I get one for $1, 070
No one is in, because I want to call and find out if it is legit and why I got the $$ back. Anyone else get this before??

I get them too...sometimes they cover things that you have already paid for, for example, b/w and sono's....

DH used to get checks like that from his insurance company but had to give them to the office it was for dental work

Insurance comapnies send checks to pay out of network Dr's with. It was attached to an explanation of benefits...see who the DR was on there and call them. Its usually Pathologists, anesthisologists and radiologists who are not participating and most of the time the insurances cannot pay them directly, they have to pay you.
Also, pay close attention to what the DR charged and how much the check is for. If its for less, that doesnt mean you cant be billed for the remainder. Call you insurance company and if its less, tell them you had no choice over who was used ( non par dr wise) so they will adjust it and send you extra money. Many people dont do this and there is a time limit to call and try to get reimbursed in full.

that is what i am thinking!
They did this to us last fall! Pain in my a$$!!! I used the check to pay a bill we got when I SHOULD have used it to pay the anethesiologist, but I didn't know that, so know we are trying to get the money back from the first medical place (which shouldn't have sent the bill to begin wieth) to re-imburse ourselves with money we STILL had to send to the anesthesiologist. So before you cash it, find out who really should get it.
