CBEFM users - think i have a problem

I'm not sure what to do Chat Icon

When I set my monitor on CD 1 I set it at 9am so that my six hour time frame would allow me to test at 6am when I get up during the week, but I would have until noon on weekends (we like to sleep in).

My problem is that tomorrow I have to travel for work so I will be leaving my house at 545 and therefore getting up around 5am which is outside my testing time. I definitely can't skip it bc I am in the middle of high readings.

I thought maybe of bringing the monitor and a test stick with me and taking a test first chance I get but that would mean holding my pee in ALL morning which is not ideal since DH and I will BD tonight and I usually go right to sleep after so spermies have time to get where they need to go.

Any suggestions as to what I can do?

TIA

Will DH be home from 6-12? One time I was not going to be home during my test window, I pee'd in a cup and left it for DH to test for me during the correct window. It worked out perfectly.

Hmm. I didn't think of that. Thing is, DH is not exactly a fan of all my little TTC "techniques" and would much rather let nature take its course Chat Icon he goes along with it for my sake bc I am a control freak. I guess I could try asking him and he would prob do it for me but he might moan and groan about it too.

It is worth asking. If he knows you are using it and how much $$ you spent on it, he may just do it. Good luck.

I would def ask DH because I had this exact prob last week and I think I screwed up my whole cycle on the monitor bc of it. We were catching a flight early and there was no one staying behind to test for me so I ended up just peeing on the stick and then bringing it with me and popping it in the monitor when it was time. Well according to my temps I ovulated that day so I should have gotten a peak reading... but because the stick sat around I only got a high reading that day. I missed my surge and have now been getting high readings for 10 days straight. Thank goodness I temp or I'd never know I ovulated on time and I'd think something is wrong with me!

So the monitor def won't ask me for the stick even just an hour earlier?

Unfortunately not. All it will show is the reading from the day before. The day in your cycle is even listed as the day before. I guess the monitor knows it's the next day when it hits the time frame. We were leaving the house at 5:50 so I was hoping by some miracle I had set the time frame a bit earlier this month but no.. instead I actually set it later because I kept turning the monitor on every few minutes on the way to the airport and the damn thing wouldn't turn. Then at around 6:45 or so it finally did. By that time I could see that the lines on the stick looked so different than what they did when I first tested an hour before.

Re: CBEFM users - think i have a problem

I've been in a similar situation before and just brought the monitor with me and a stick and tested the earliest I could. IMO I don't think an hr makes that big of a difference. I used to get up in the middle of the night to pee say at 3 or 4 and then test at 6 and it was fine. So if you pee when you wake up at 5, then see if you can pee again at 7 or so. I believe once you pee on the stick, it's only good for 10 minutes. It will tell you to re-test again.
HTH!!

So if I take the monitor with me it's ok if its not FMU?

Re: CBEFM users - think i have a problem

Thanks for all of your responses. Chat Icon

So I started to explain my dilemma to DH over dinner and I wasn't halfway thru my speech when he asked me:
"Do you want me to POAS for you?"Chat Icon I bursted out laughing. Then in all seriousness he told me to leave hin my "sample" in a solo cup and he will take care of it.
Of course I had to explain the process to him TWICE along with written out step by step instructions - but I gotta say that it made me so happy that he offered to do it without me asking.
