Catering Question?

Hi,

I have a catering question. We are having 90 people for Ava's Christening. i need to order 9 full trays of food. How many trays should I get of each, a pasta, chicken, beef etc? I was going to get veal but I don't know if I should waste a whole tray of food for veal becuase not everyone likes it.

Can someone please help me with this! Thanks!
Denise

Re: Catering Question?

Beef -chicken- pasta sounds like more than enough... I only did chicken and pasta... we had about 70 people... And 2 hero's

What kind of Beef chicken and pasta are you choosing??
Will they all be the same?

Re: Catering Question?

No, I was thinking like Chicken Franchaise, Chicken Marsala, Beef and Brocoli, etc.

The cater told us we needed 9 full trays of food, I hope he wasn't lying to get more money from us, I would have to have that mcuh food left over, then again I would hate not to have enough. Would you mind telling me how many trays of food you had? Also, how many pasta trays did you have?

Re: Catering Question?

My son is two and a half, so I am trying to remember exactly how many trays we had.. I think it was about the same.. 70 people, I think we did six trays cause we also had the cold food....

I had a huge hero, (equivalent of two..Italian & American), a tray of a pasta salad antipasto, and two(maybe 3?) trays of penne a la vodka, 2 Chicken parmigana, 1 (maybe 2?) Chicken marsala, Small Mac and Cheese for the kids, and a regular salad tray.. And of course Italian bread, for the Pasta sauce!

I am pretty sure in total it was six trays.. + the salad, mac & cheese, bread and hero..
Soda, butter, condiments, and then we did the desserts.. (excluding the cake...)

Got the cake at Costco.. Made Ambrosia, and had ice cream, cookies and pasteries.. I was so happy that everything went well We had a huge multi denominational integrated family that all showed up to the church.. and to the party! By the time we got to the dessert I was exstatic that no-one made a comment on the service!!!!

Good luck-- HTH

Re: Catering Question?

Also-- try calling around to different caterers.. ask them how many trays they recommend.. Thats what we did.. and then we called the one whose food we liked best and ordered that many...
