Car people... what could be causing dashboard to "ding" for no reason?

We're bringing my jeep in for service on wednesday but I wanted to know if maybe anyone on here knew the reason for why the dash would "ding" but no warning indicator lights up? It happens almost every time we drive, usually after about 15-20 mins of driving, but it varies. I always look down at the dash expecting to see a low fuel, check engine, tire pressure or some kind of light come on... but nothing. Why would it be doing this?

In my jeep that happens when there is low washer fluid...it pops up where the odometer is and goes away.

It's not that, we checked everything we could think of including that. And no light ever comes on.

DH says:

- are your seat belts buckled
- you may have a directional light out
- low tire pressure sensor
- a fuse could be loose

Seat belt warning will ding and flash non-stop until we buckle.

I'll have my DH look into the other things your DH mentioned. Hopefully the dealership can figure it out when we bring it in too.

Thanks!

sometimes if a sensor in the dash is going, it might do it.....it happened with our ford, so far though we have not had any of those probs with either of our jeeps...let us know though in case we do!Chat Icon

sounds like a fuse/electrical short in the dash board.
