Can you recommend cooking recipes that you can do with your toddler?

Places are charging $50+ for cooking classes for toddlers. I figure maybe we can do this at home for free.

I plan to let DS help make some rice crispy treats.

Can you share some other very easy and toddler friendly recipes to cook? TIA!

This is going to sound lazy but DS LOVES it...

I get the No Pudge Brownies because all you have to do is add vanilla yogurt to the mix. DS will stir away at them forever. And he doesnt care for sweets so if I eat them, I feel less guilty than if I make regular ones Chat Icon

DS enjoys anything...Cakes, pancakes, breads. I measure things out and let him dump them into the bowl and he has his own wisk that he uses.

Last year I did cookies, I made them laid them out and let him go crazy with the sprinkles! Th

I did a gingerbread house w/ Sean - I put it together and then we decorated.

It's the ugliest damn Gingerbread House you have evern laid eyes on - but it was fun. Chat Icon

we do homemade pizza.

I roll out the dough and then he puts his hands in it...and eats the sauce and cheese off as I assemble.

he also likes watching the pancakes rise of the griddle, but he's still a little too young to help with the mixing yet.

DS just turned 3 - but he Loves to help me cook.

he stirs and dumps.

I got him a "Joie de vivre Wavy Knife" from Bed Bath & Beyond for $3 to help me chop.

The other day he helped me make talipia - spread oil on pan, put sprinkles on (seasoning) and put the butter on top.

He knows when I go near the oven he puts his hands on his head b/c its hot and he can't touch it.

He used the chopper to help me cut chicken, I cooked it/drained it. he added it to a glass baking dish. then he dumped a bag of frozen broccoli on top and evened it out. then he helped me pour a jar of Ragu Double Cheddar sauce. Topped w/ sprinkles (breadcrumbs) and baked until bubbly... great way to get a kid to eat brocolli. he was so proud that he made dinner that night.

DS helps me cook dinner most nights.

ETA: Those peel apart cookies where you just plop on sheet are very easy...

Chloe likes to stir when Im making sauce or soups, but I get nervous.

Baking is the best... I pull up a chair and let her stand on it. I measure stuff out and let her dump it in and then mix. We made cookies the other day and she had a blast spooning the dry ingredients from one bowl to the other. Cookies & pancakes both seem to be a hit. she turned 2 yesterday

One of my favorite things that I did when DD1 was a toddler (and that we still even do now) is make meatloaf 'cupcakes'.
I make individual turkey meatloaf in mini muffin pans and then make mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. I put the mash into snack size baggies and then cut a small edge off to make a piping bag and I serve her the plain meatloaf with the mashes and then make several veggies (mixed carrots, peas, corn, etc) and I let her 'decorate' her cupcake.
She has a great time decorating and then eating her dinner.

With this, DC can always help with making the mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes.

Thanks Dina!! You can do the same thing and make burgers instead of the 'cupcakes'...turkey 'cookies'. Since I dont bake I had to come up with something so that McKayla wouldnt miss out on that whole decorating cupcakes experience Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
