can taking a multivitamin at night cause insomnia?

I started taking my multivitamin before dinner because it makes me naseous to take it in the morning. I work a lot, so I usually don't eat dinner until almost 8pm, sometimes closer to 9 and I go to bed at 10pm.

For the past few nights, I haven't been able to sleep well at all. I have heard that niacin can keep you awake at night. Has anyone else heard this? The vitamin I take contains 10g of nacin. Would that be enough?

Any other thoughts? Diet hasn't changed other than the vitamins.

Now, insomnia is unfortunately no stranger to me, so it could very well be something else, too.

Are there B vitimins in it? That will do it right there!

There are a lot of B complex vitamins in it, too, yes... but I thought B vitamins were calming and relaxing - ? Maybe I had that backwards!

I think I will switch to taking them earlier in the day to see if that helps.

Ah, thanks for explaining. It has a lot of both B-6 and B-12. Maybe I'm up b/c my body is totally confused.

I'll try taking them with lunch instead. Maybe that will help.

Definitely! Take those in the morning, if possible. My doc gives me a b!2 shot when I am feeling overly fatigued and need a boost!
