Can someone please give me directions to Heckscher Park in Huntigton
Map quest is giving me the most ridiculous directions. I's be coming from Queens on either the LIE or Northern State. TIA

 Heckscher Park is not in Huntington....
I *think* this is how to get there...
LIE to Sagtikos and take it South. Then, the road will split - take the left fork (Southern State Parkway) towards Heckscher Park and keep going south. I think the road just naturally goes into the entrance of the park.
If you take the Southern State, take it to the exit for Heckscher park (the end of the road) and go South (again, heading straight into the park)
Huntington is on the North Shore, but the Park is on the south shore
edited to clarify once I checked on Google Maps

Don't go here! That's Heckshire STATE Park.
You want Heckshire Park in Huntington.
It's a ways from the Northern State because it's closer to the water.

You want driving diretions from your address to
2 PRIME AVENUE Huntington.
That's the exact address of the museum located in the park.
Barb will be in the general vicinity, either at the stone house (located in front and a bit north to the face of the museum, at the stone gazebo (closer to Main St.) or by the 9-11 memorial.
Look for her in that general area.

Most direct route is Northern State Parkway to Exit 42 North (Deer Park Ave). From the exit to the next turn is at least 10 miles so don't get worried.
Off the exit ramp just past the firehouse it forks into Deer Park Ave & Deer Park Road :rollseyes: - stay to the left (I can't remember which one that is).
Take Deer Park Ave NORTH, it will become Park Ave when you cross over Route 25 aka Jericho Turnpike (major intersection with a Wendy's on the corner - 2nd traffic light after the fork).
Continue NORTH on Park Avenue. It is going to look like you are in the middle of nowhere for a while.
You will eventually get to Pulaski Road (another sort of big intersection with nursing home on one corner and a bank on another corner -amd I think it is County Road 11 but don't quote me on that). After you cross that street you will go over a set of train tracks. Just past the traffic light after tracks you should see a sign that says "Welcome to Huntington" - continue going NORTH.
After another, 2-3 miles you will reach Route 25A aka Main Street (do NOT confuse this with Route 25). At this traffic light make a left onto 25A. The park is on your right starting at that corner. Go to the next light (sorry don't know the name of the street) and make a right and park on the street.
Hope the local landmarks help get you there safely!!!
