Can internal sonos ruin things
Because i was in so much pain at work i told my coworker im going straight to doc at 7 am. She told me to not let them do an internal sono this early 4w3d because it can make things go wrong. is this true? i let them do it anyways because i was in pain. We didnt see anything though.

I wouldn't think so-- if you are just looking at it from a physical perspective.
My RE told me that once your hcg gets over 1000, then you can do a sono in a week or two. I assume that is just to make sure you see something.

an internal can increase the risk of infection so it probably isnt a good idea. my dr dosnt do them until the very end or if there are any issues like possibly leaking fluid.

i think she's referring to the internal sono, not an actual internal. i got internal sonos several times at the beginning because it was so much easier to see the sac. sometimes it's hard to see it from the external.
an internal exam is given in the last month to check for dilation and effacement.
i've never heard of an internal sono causing problems. i can't imagine a doctor would give them if it created a risk without telling you first. that sounds like something "heard through the grapevine".

You're in pain from cramping?
If the doc is willing to do an internal sono, then I doubt it will cause anything to go wrong.

There should be no problem. I had my first internal sono at 5w5d and then another at 6w5d and 7w5d. I didn't have an external sono until around 11-12 weeks. It can't hurt or damage anything........the same way having sex can't hurt or damage anything. Your cervix is closed up tight and the baby/embryo is enclosed safely in the amniotic sac inside of your uterus. The sono probe is in your vagina, it can't really hurt anything.

Internal sonos won't hurt the pregnancy. The techs are usually very careful to make sure that the probe doesn't irritate your cervix.
I'm 12 1/2 weeks, and my OB is still largely doing internal sonos on me (I'm heavy and have quite a bit of belly fat). No problems so far.

Internal sonos wont hurt the pregnancy, but it seems a bit early to get a sono at 4 weeks 3 days.

At 8 weeks I had an internal sonogram and it ended up being my clearest sonogram throughout the pregnancy.
