can I join you ladies? My introduction. (Long)
DH and I have been trying for our 2nd child for about 14 months now. Since having DD, I've had major ovulation pain and serious pain on the first day of AF. I conceived DD using Clomid (50mg) and got very lucky that it worked on the 2nd month w/o any major intervention. Prior to having DD I had very irregular cycles.. since having DD cycles have spurts- regular for a few months, irregular, etc.
Since I conceived DD easily using Clomid- this time last year (approx) I went back to my old ob/gyn and was put back on clomid (50mg) for 3 months- the plan was if I didn't conceive- they'd do more testing, etc. Well, I didn't conceive, but then we moved, and I needed to find a new doc., etc. We took some time just BDing and hoping it would work, and then in June I found a new ob/gyn.
My ob/gyn wasn't so super concerned- she did CD3 bloodwork, checked sugar, insulin, thyroid- had HSG done, DH had SA and was told "all normal". Had one natural IUI (no drugs) and one IUI on clomid.. both didn't work. After these two IUIs I was supposed to get IUI with a trigger- also done at my reg OB's office. But, of course, it all fell during the holidays and the office wasn't open.
We BD and of course TBAF came. For some reason it really upset me. I reesolved to go to a RE and try and get some answers.
I saw Dr. Braverman yesterday and I am so happy I did. He thinks I have PCOS- looking at some of the original bloods my reg OB did- and he finished the panel and did a sonogram. He thinks I shouldn't have a problem once we get the insulin situation under control.
Also- on the HSG a fibroid turned up- he said they sometimes act as IUDs so tomorrow afternoon I'm having a hysteroscopy.. has anyone ever had one?
He also mentioned something about me having clot issues due to the nature of DDs delivery (crash section- cut me open b/f I could get a spinal- had to be put under, in gen'l a crappy experience). So I'm having a bunch more bloods taken monday- half of them I'm not sure what for- but I'm going with it.
I just want to say I've been a huge lurker for a while now- I have had a huge time coming to terms with the fact that we were having a huge time, and honestly didn't face the RE- but after reading about you ladies, I was inspired!

thats pretty amazing though that you're on the right road to getting some answers. I feel like lately no one listens to me. I maybe on the look for an RE In pA or philly if the IUI doesnt work next week.

Hey Dina! Remember me? I'm Michelle, Jen's friend (CaseyGirl)...
Anyway, I've had the hysteroscopy recently. How did it go? For me, it was very uncomfortable!!! At least it's over and I got the results which were good.
We've been trying for #2 for 9 months. I had a miscarriage in June. Hoping the Lupron and this IUI works!!
Hopefully, everyone on this board will only have a short stay!
& OMG- can't beileve the experience you had delivering your DD.

yes I remember you.
the hysteroscopy wasn't as bad as the hsg. I have a small semptum in my uterus but not bad that the RE is worried.. it really is just a slight "bump" between my two fallopian tubes.
right now he's just starting me on the metformin- hopefully that helps!

A lot of people who have insulin issues and PCOS find that just the Metformin works for them. Hopefully, you are one of these people or Dr. Braverman gets you PG quickly...

Just wanted to welcome you and tell you I think you made a great choice in Braverman. I just switched to him and think he's the best!
I hope your stay here is short and sweet, but we want you to stick around to root us on anyway!!!
