Can I ask you guys something?...

Ok you've seen some recent pics of DS. Does he look thin? He had a virus 2 weeks ago and lost some weight. But since he's been better he has been eating again. While I don't expect him to gain 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I am getting ****** off at people telling me how thin he looks.

My SIL and her Mother saw DS briefly this morning and they were both like "oh you can definitely tell he's lost weight" He lost 7 ******* ounces!!!! Not 7 lbs!!!!

You guys have seen some recent pics of him. Does he look really thin. He's always been skinny to begin with. But come on...I think he's looking much better than when he was sick. He's still on the soy milk cuz he really likes it. He's drinking close to 6 ounces a feeding and he gets 4 bottles a day. He hasn't done that in months. With his regular formula I was lucky that he took 4 ounces!

Does soy milk not make you gain as much weight as the regular formula...

People say the dumbest things! I think your DS looks fine....adorable, as a matter of fact! As you said, he's on the small side to begin with so what are they talking about?! I'm not too sure about your question with the soy vs dairy formula. You know that you are giving him the proper nourishment so just keep doing what you're doing!

Well the soy milk is milk free so I thought that maybe he's not getting the same ingredients as he was with the regular formula. He's only got 4 weeks to go until he starts regular cow's milk anyway so it's really no big deal I guess...

Re: Can I ask you guys something?...

Are you giving him soy milk or soy formula? Either is fine, and while soy MILK does not have as much fat as whole milk, it's still fine for them. At this point, at 11 months, they shouldn't be gaining weight from what they're drinking, they should be gaining weight from what they're eating.
I can't possibly tell you if your son looks like he lost weight because he could lose 7oz. from pooping, so I really wouldn't worry about it. People will say things to you no matter what, just ignore it.
I would just accept the fact that you have a thin baby. There's nothing wrong with that. It's who he is.

Your son doesn't look too thin....your SIL and her mother are not doctors..if your doctor isn't concerned then relax. Your son was just sick, he will gain his weight back, it takes time

I didn't phrase my response well. Not that I didn't understand what you were talking about with the soy formula...just that I didn't know the answer to your question. At any rate, I'm sure he's doing fine! Don't let the "losing weight" comments make you crazy!
