Can anyone reccommend any good sign language books / sites .....
Our EI speech therapist has reccommended we start to sign with DS to try and help him communicate with us
and i dont know where to begin can anyone help me with where to go for resorces to help him

DVDs for Children to Watch - Signing Time
For the Parents to Learn How to Teach Sign Language and Why
I used these both with my first, and she learned to sign a whole bunch before she was talking well. I'm just starting again with my second.

thankyou so much i will order that book tonight
did you find it hard to do ?? i have been told that once you start you have to sign everything to them or they wont get it is this true ??

We started using "baby signing time" - dd is only 10 months, so its still early for her, but she loves watching the dvd. I like the songs on it. I didn't buy the whole set. First I took it out of the library to make sure she liked it, then I just bought the first one off of Ebay. I've learned all the signs too from watching it- but I have a hard time remembering to use them!

The DVDs are amazing and so much fun. My nephews learned a ton from them!

I don't think you need to sign everything -- but what you do sign you should do every time. The book recommends starting with three words -- I think they were drink, eat and more. Once your child repeats one of those you start adding on more words. More came first for us.

Baby Einstein has a dvd out called baby wordsworth. We also have a book that we used with Kiera and she did some sign language when she was a baby. Here's the link
