Can a REA tell you the outcome of another home inspection that was done on a home you are bidding on?
If they are the seller's agent? Can they or should they tell you the results of other inspections?

I would say no and I'm not sure they ever saw it. A seller or any people on the sellers side do not automatically have a right to the inspection report.

I don't think so, put it this way if they had an offer on a house and it was inspected and then due to the inspection the buyer pulled out of the deal and now it's back to square one......think they would disclose that??
I don't think they would. They would probably just say "Oh they could not get the Mortgagee or something like that and that is why they walked away".
Either way, I would 100% get my own done regardless.

The seller's agent of the house we bought (2+ years ago) provided us with the copy of the inspection that was done by the folks who tried and failed to buy the house before us.
We chose to get our own independent one -- it ended up being the same info, anyway.

I would think only if the seller's consented- they do afterall work for the seller
I agree with a pp- I would take it with a grain of salt and still get my own inspection report

there is a house in island park that the realtor is telling everyone what the inspection found
and the house is priced accordingly
I would still do my own

My understanding is that if an inspection is done and the deal falls through, the seller has to disclose any issues found during the inspection to future prospective buyers. Not sure if this is true, as we were never in the situation, but this is what we were told.
eta: now that I think about it, our sellers did actually disclose some issues that a previous inspection had found.

Our sellers did not disclose the previous inspection to us. I know part of the roof was fixed due to that inspection. In the end, we got our own inspection.

Our house has been inspected twice before and "passed" each time (including ours). The previous deals fell through due to financing...
We knew there were no issues with the house and why the other offers fell through-- but I imagine every agent is different in what info they will disclose.
We couldn't get the reports because one inspection, we were against them and thry would never give us the info.. I am not sure about the other...

Nope, it was due to financing.
Our inspection showed the same issues.

You should always have your own inspection done. Think about it - it's worth it to spend 300-500 dollars to potentially save yourself 300,000-500,000 in the event there are major issues with the house!

It would be nice if they did when there are very large issues that will be found, so you (and many others) can save your $350. We wasted our money on a house in that situation because the realtor kept his mouth shut. But then confessed to my inspector after we left.
