Can a kid drink TOO MUCH milk?
Doc wants her to have 8-24 ounces a day. DD can drink 24 or MORE. DH doesn't think that it's good to drink more than 24 oz because of the milk fat. Is that true or let her drink as much as she wants?

Yes you can drink too much. You can become anemia if your drink to much.

Yes, definitely limit the intake because, like Michelle said, it can lead to anemia since milk blocks the absorption of iron.

Yes - my doctor warned me about milk. I offer water most of the day and then milk only with meals.

Dd was anemic from too much milk. I had no idea she could drink too much until then. Milk is also hard to absorb and causes microscopic bleeding in the intestines, which also leads to anemia.

olivia always drank over the 24 oz of milk so what i started to do is water down the milk so it looks like more. whole milk water down by 1/12 and we were fine. it also causes constipation.

My partner at work had the same problem. She now has to give her child iron pills b/c she is anemic from too much milk.
My pedi says to give the kids whatever % you drink. We are a skim milk household and that is what my DD gets too.

Babies need the fat in whole milk for brain development.

I get that...but she is SMART as a whip and the fat is so neglible that my pedi says to not worry about it and I'm not. He has 5 kids...he knows what he's talking about.

The fat content in skim milk is zero. The fat content in whole milk is 8 grams. That's quite a difference.
I just read that your DC is 3 though. Whole milk is not necessary at that age.
