BTDT Moms- Your infant to toddler

I am very curious about this. If you have a toddler/older child, is their disposition similar to how they were when they were young babies?

My DD is only 2 months, and she seems independent. She can occupy herself pretty easily when I am not playing with her. When she gets tired, she only seems to get more fussy when I am holding her. She prefers to be laying down alone. I know it sounds strange, but sometimes it makes me feel sad.
Chat Icon She's only going to be this little once!

So, how has your DC's personality stayed the same or changed?

DS's pesona;lity has remained consistent in that he's high maintenance and dramatic! Chat Icon He was colic as a baby and couldn't be put down- needed to be the center of attention. He is still like that at 2.5. He's not a cry baby any more, but he's always putting on a show and trying to be a clown. You can't really take your eyes off of him because you don't know what trouble he may find. Chat Icon But at the same time, he can be very independent. He's finally at an age where he can play by himself for a while and he has no problem playing and meeting new people and kids. He's a very social being.

Re: BTDT Moms- Your infant to toddler

my dd was a very easy infant, did not fuss much, slept GREAT (since 5 weeks old)...was pretty happy

Now as a toddler, she is more of a handful...she is still very happy, sweet and loving. Still sleeps great but she is a bit feisty...if I say no to something, she flips out, whines, cries, throws herself on the floor, etc - I chalk that up to the "terrible two's"

overall, she is a great, smart, loving kid Chat Icon

DD has stayed the same. She is not very demanding or overly-affectionate. But her dad isn't either so I blame him Chat Icon

But she is so good and sweet, that I'll take that any day over the crazy mood swings some kids have, hugging and cuddling one minute, temper tantrums the next Chat Icon

The first 6 weeks not withstanding, Logan's always been a pretty good kid.

As long as he was fed and rested he was a happy baby. Whenever he cried it was because of one of those two things.

That's pretty much the same now.

As an infant my son was the most adaptable, mellow easy going kid around. I swear.

Then at around 14 months the terrible twos set in and he is the polar opposite. Strong willed and stubborn. Even still I can generally always figures out what's wrong but most of the time it is absurd problems like he can't fit his ball in the kitchen drawer or I won't let him play with sharp knives. Poor kid.

DS has changed. WHen he was less than a year, he was independent and happy (didn't cry that much). He never had a problem with strangers. A little after 1 that all changed. DS now at 2 is very clingy and doesn't like strangers. He also doesn't like to play alone as much anymore. He's also very moody and can start crying at the drop of a hat. It's all phases though.

My son was the most miserable infant around. He never smiled, he was totally intense...and at around 10 months, his personality changed completely. Now at 3, he is really lovely, smiley, funny, easygoing. He will sleep anywhere, at anyones house. Travelling with him is pretty easy. He is just lovely.
