BTDT moms regarding Tying Tubes during c-section!!

What was the recovery like after your c-section and getting your tubes tied? Do you think it was worse than if you had just had a c-section? Does it take a long time? Is it risky to do while they are doing your c-section? I'm thinking about talking to my Dr about Tying my tubes as I get further along in this pregnancy, but i am not sure. I am nervous enough about having another c-section 20 months after my first, but to have my tubes tied at the same time? Chat Icon

Re: BTDT moms regarding Tying Tubes during c-section!!

my sections were 25 months apart, there was no real difference with the recovery at all. no pain no nothing. It takes about 20 minutes if that after your delivery to do the procedure and then off to recovery you will go. The only difference I see after is that my periods are a heavier, but end faster.... Hope it helps, good luck!!

Re: BTDT moms regarding Tying Tubes during c-section!!

I had mine tied at time of csection. It doesn't feel any different....you actually don't feel any thing. I had no complications but I totally regret it now dh and I are going through IVF so make sure that is what you want. At the time that is what we both wanted but 3 years later after we got the itch and after 2 transfers no baby. Prior to the tubal I was fertile myrtle.

Thanks ladies! We're going to really think about it over the next few months and then once we feel that we are 100% set with our decision, we'll take it from there. Unless we move into a bigger house out of NY, a 4th child is not really in our plans in the future. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the info and advice ladies!!!
