I think you'll get varying answers but I never used the Boppy Pillow or the hook-on booster seat (I bought the FP Booster instead). I would advise not throwing away ANY boxes until you know whether your baby likes certain things. DS hated the papasan seat and the swing we bought and we went and bought new ones but couldnt return the old ones because we threw out all the boxes! You learn A LOT after they're here and could easily change your mind!

Bottle warmer... never used it and never will. DD is EBF but gets pumped milk in a bottle sometimes (and when i'm at work) that either comes out of the fridge or freezer. It's much easier to warm the milk in a cup of hot water.

When I was in the hospital my MIL and SIL set up some stuff for us and threw out the boxes so now we have a bottle warmer that was never used but no box to return it.

I know a lot of people like it, but I got little to no use out of my bumbo seat.

she never really sat in it.

Re: BTDT moms... items never used or needed

I wouldn't have gotten a bottle sterilizer - my DD is EBF and when I give her a pumped bottle I use the medela microwave sterilizer bags and find they work great.

I got 100s of gifts, literally, after DD was born. This doesn't address your original question, but I'd just advise you to attach the gift receipts you get to all clothing items that way you can eventually return what you don't need. I am still making weekly trips to BBB, Babies R Us, Carters, Children's Place, etc to return things DD never had a chance to wear because she grew so fast (we got a million clothing items in 0-3 and 3-6 and at three months she's already too big for them).

Sorry to go off topic, but I wish I would have done that - would have saved a lot of trouble!

Re: BTDT moms... items never used or needed

Bottle Warmer(practically burned the bottles)
Bottle Sterilizer(I used the dishwasher)
baby bjorn (I used a sling instead, so much more comfy)
Swing (she hated it and outgrew it so fast)
Miracle Blanket and Swaddle Me (I just swaddled in a regular blanket)
Bottle Sets (I got so many and what I really needed was like one bottle of each brand to try for her)

bottle warmer
wipes warmer
boppy (if you are breast feeding definitely get My Breast Friend over the boppy)
portable bottle warmer (used it maybe twice)

I used almost everything I got though. Just don't register for any receiving blankets, bibs, burp clothes or clothes because people will get you that stuff anyway. I have about 1000 blankets.

never used needed bought....

bottle warmer- stick it in a container of warm water to bring it to room temp

wipes warmer- if your baby is not use to it then they wont miss it.
if there use to it what are you going to do when you go places?

using everything else. TONS of bibs, various blankets, tons of sleepers and onesies.

ds ended up liking the bumbo- but its not neccessary....

Re: BTDT moms... items never used or needed

My dd loves her boppy, but our goddaughter hates it. Same like the swing.

For us the born free bottle sterilizer was a complete waste of money we used it once. I either put the bottles in the dishwasher or boil water.

Bottle Warmer..boil water or let the hot water run and put the bottle in a cup.

Diaper Genie..just b/c it grosses me out. We put the dirty diaper in a bag and run it outside to the garbage.

I registered for an exersaucer and a jumperoo. They are basically the same thing so I returned the jumperoo.

IMO register more for sheets, changing pads, & onesies. You can never have enough of those.

Ultimate crib sheet. It did not fit the mattress we purchased so it was a complete waste. I also got a lot of different kinds of safety latch things and some of them did not work for our drawers. I never bothered to return them so they are sitting in my closet.

You will ABSOLUTELY get different answers to this, because I live and die by my bottle warmer...and DD was EBF as well. We love ours so much that we have one for upstairs and one for downstairs, along with an extra fridge.

For us, the only thing we didn't really use was the bouncy seat...DD never liked hers.

ITA with this...the Breast Friend is so much better for your back, even if you don't have back problems like I do. Chat Icon

Re: BTDT moms... items never used or needed

Barely used the ultimate crib sheet, it was always such a pain in the @$$ and I paid good money for his sheets lol.

I barely used the bibs I got. I usually just used the vinyl one so I can rinse off all the food ((now that he eats solids)), before that I would use my burp cloths.

Blankets, god I have like 100 of them.

I bought a ton of those sterilizer bags, and used our regular sterilizer, must easier because it was bigger.

I bought a ton of freezer stash bags for breastmilk, but uhh could barely pump enough for the day so a freezer stash was out lol

Re: BTDT moms... items never used or needed

1) Bumbo seat (DD never really liked it and her legs were too chunky!)
2) Bottle warmer
3) Wipe warmer

We LOVED the boppy (used it for a VERY long time), the miracle blanket (used until she was four months old), and the snap and go!

ETA: Blankets! I received SO many when DD was born that it was not necessary to have them on my registry. Plus, she's only 10 months old, so she doesn't even use them!
