BTDT Moms - How many ear infections before tubes?
After how many ear infections was this brought up? DD is on her third in the last 3 months....When we go for her next follow up I am going to ask if we should see an ENT. Just looking for any BTDT advice.

Andrew had them all the time!!! The ped said the only time he would suggest going to an ENT would be if after he was on antibiotics, it came right back or never went away. Otherwise he said he would probably outgrow it. And (knock wood) he did.

We are getting the tubes this Friday after months of my begging for them. Ds has had at least one infection per month since Sept. They kept telling me that since his ears were draining and he was getting better inbetween, he didn't qualify. Well, we just went through our 2nd round of antibiotics for his current infections he's had almost 4 weeks and they're still not gone, and the ENT finally said, enough is enough. So we're going in! It doesn't hurt to ask!

Thanks! I hope she outgrows thems. Honestly I feel like its the same infection that has never gone away. This is her 3rd time on antibiotics.

Do you go back to the ped right after you finish the anibiotic to check that it's gone, or do you just take the antibiotic and assume it worked? You have to go back and double check cause if it's really not clearing up, that'll be the determining factor.
