BTDT LIJ moms.... question
Did you have to pack a separate bag for labor and one for your stay? Did they provide you with that postpartum support belly thing? The nurse at our birthing class mentioned they do, but I was going to get one anyway.... but just curious....

I got a support bandage and it was a lifesaver after the c-section. Ask the nurse for it the day before your release. I did not even know I was going to get one.
As for bags, I brought them and left them in the car. I had essentials such as hard candy, Ipod and a puzzle book. I also live 2 miles from the hospital so anything was just minutes away.

I had two bags as well and my family brought them into me when I was settled in my room after DS was born.
As for the labor room----like Goldi said----only the essentials. Basically digital camera, mints and for us, the cord blood kit. Oh, cell-phone too to text everyone who may be waiting in the lounge for you with updates/photo when the baby is born.
Another piece of advice: Tell your family and friends to go easy on the flowers and the gifts. DH had to make a gazillion trips to the car the day we left with everything. They didn't actually have a "cart" on hand like they said they would on the website or wherever I initially read it.

Oh I didn't get a support belt, but I didn't have a C-section either. Is that the same thing as the one many pregnant women wear before birth? I had one of them already while preggers!
