Brewster, NY (repost from NFR board)
Anyone live in Brewster (Putnam County?).
We are thinking about moving there and I was curious about the schools and travel time to Long Island (since my family will be staying there.)

my granddparents live in somers and so do my cousins, that is next to brewster and it takes us 1.5 hrs to get ther, and from what they have told me they love the schools

I used to live in CT. We were about a half hour from Brewster and when I used to work in Westchester I though about moving there just so I could be closer - and it seemed like a very convenient area. The train is like 70-80 minutes into Grand Central. I used to be so jealous because the train was right there in Brewster! I don't know about the schools but there are some nice neighborhoods and you're not far from Danbury (literally 10 minutes to the mall) White Plains or Poughkeepsie.

and thank you all for your answers. We live in Westchester now and I love it (no traffic!!) - I'm just not sure if I want to move to much further north since I like visiting LI, but you can get so much land and such nice houses up there!!!
