Breast Pump Advice

I'm looking for some pump advice... with my DD I used two different Spectra pumps- the S9 and the S2. I kept the S2 at work because while I liked it better, it's huge and I didn't want to lug it back and forth. The S9 is still great and super portable but not as powerful as my S2. I struggled to produce enough for DD so I used the S9 every night (woke up and pumped at 1 AM to build stash and keep up supply once DD started STTN) and on weekends, so it definitely got a work out. But so did the S2 as I used it about 3 times a day at work. I pumped/nursed for a year. I still have both and will be buying replacement parts but I also am covered for a free pump through insurance. So I want to get a new one and I'm not sure which one to get. I'm covered for both. The S9 is more expensive but I feel like I used the S2 more. HELP! I think I'm also covered for the Freemie pump but I'm skeptical of it.... Any advice is appreciated!

I loved the s2. It’s not portable, but it serves me well. It’s actually more expensive than the s9. I would def get the s2 as it’s hospital grade. I was covered for the s9 through insurance but paid oop for the s2.

Really? S9 comes up more expensive for me! Where did you buy it, if you don't mind me asking?

S9 was covered by insurance and just sent to me. S2 I bought on Groupon lol.

Re: Breast Pump Advice

I had the Medela Pump in Syle and the Hygeia Q with my first. I got the Medela through my insurance and paid OOP for the Hygeia. I honestly didn't love either of them. I opted for the Spectra S2 this time around. It didn't cost me anything with insurance as it was totally covered. I am 38 weeks so haven't used it yet but hoping it's better than the other 2. My best friend ordered the S2 through her insurance as well and then ended up going right to formula so she never used it. Now I'll be able to have one at home and one at work.

I have to use an approved medical supply company for my insurance. I used Byram Healthcare. It's so easy to order online, takes like 5 mins.

I know Edgepark is another supply company.

Ha- they really have everything! No shame. I bought the s2 on Amazon last time since I was only covered for the s9.

Yes, this is what I'm going by. I ordered from Byram last time but I'm covered for more through Edgepark including the S2, S9, Medela Pump in Style, and the Freemie. So that's where my hesitation comes in. I *know* the S2 and S9 but I struggled with supply so I'm wondering if I should switch it up.
