The movement of most of the bouncers Im seeing seem too jerky to me and when Ive seen babies in them Ive always thought they looked startled when it moves....anyone have any thoughts on this?
ETA...still deciding whether to get one or not.

I personally considered my bouncy seat our best purchase.

I'm not a fan of them so I'm with you on this one. If you aren't comfortable, don't get one. I've never had one with either child and they never missed it. It's awful, but my kids survived lying on blankets on teh floor, being held or in their cribs!

I am getting one. My friends all have them and their babies love them.

DD loves hers when she is fussy it is the only thing with her reflux that calms her down. We don't bounce her in it - but my ped told us to use it to sit her in after feedings for her reflux. She loves the vibration on it - we have the FP rainforest one. Basically to her it is just a vibrating chair.

I got the infant to toddler rocker, and my boys LOVED it.
