Book to read to kindergarten class
Hi! I have to go to my child's school to be a special reader. Does anybody have any good ideas of what to read? I have a half hour and I figured that just reading a book would leave so much time. I wanted to do a craft too but that's cutting the time close. Any ideas??? Thanks!

Book to read to kindergarten class
i just did this for my son's kindergarten class. I read "Press Here" by Herve Tullet. Its really cute bc its interactive. the kids can take turns coming up to "press" or follow the directions on the page.
my son also really likes "The Book with No Pictures", too...that would probably be a fun one to read.
i would ask the teacher, too to get ideas of any that people came in and read already...

mo willems piggie and elephant books...particularly i broke my trunk and we are in a book...but come up with a voice for piggie and gerald (elephant) kids will love it!

The "Pigeon" books by Mo Willems are really cute and funny. My DS loved them when he was in kindergarten. They are not too long or complicated, and they will make the kids laugh.

Pick something unique...most parents choose the above books so the kids have already heard them!

I agree you should try to pick something unique! At that age my son loved Railroad Hank (pretty sure that's the name of it!)

Book to read to kindergarten class
For my son's first grade class I read Memoirs of a Hamster - the kids loved it.
My son vetoed all of the Mo Willems books, the
Crayon books, Todd Parr books, and the Book with No Pictures since the kids knew them.

Book to read to kindergarten class
Thank you everyone! We ended up reading "In Like a Lion and Out Like a Lamb" and colored lion and lamb wood masks I found at Michaels. The story was a bit boring, but my daughter wanted it lol They had so much fun coloring their masks though! Thanks for all of your suggestions.
