Birthday party invite

We just moved into our neighborhood in July and have two neighbors that both have kids. We talk to one of the neighbors a lot and they have even given my son some out door toys that they no longer use. The other people we do not see as much, but that is just because of the way our houses face. When they are outside we go over and see them. We are having a birthday party for my son at my gym and I was thinking of inviting the neighbors, but do not want them to feel obligated. How would you feel if you got an invitation from a new neighbor. I am just tryinig to be neighborly! Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!
Jodi

Re: Birthday party invite

I would think of it as the person was trying to get to know me & my kids better. I would bring a gift too because I couldn't show up to a party empty-handed.
