Birthday gift for a 4 year old girl?
DD was invited to a birthday party by one of her classmates. We just started going to this school this week, so I don't know the girl. Is a Princess Barbie doll a good gift for a 4 year old? Is that too cheap? Should I get something else with it. It's $11.99. Any suggestions for a 4 year old girl welcome

At least among DD's friends and classmates, 5 was the year they all really got into Barbie. At 4 they all were into Disney Princess, which has continued.
We usually spend $20-$25 for classmates. I usually get an art kit or clothes and just make sure I include the gift receipt.
