Big things on your registry-

what are the big items?

I have car seat for 300., we're buying our furniture, and then I have the glider for about 500.

What else is there? My mom keeps telling me to look for something big so people could get me a joint gift or something, but I cant think of anything?Chat Icon

Re: Big things on your registry-

The biggest was the Travel System and my sister and her dh bought it for us. nothing else was over $150 and they were bought by individuals. I felt bad because I assumed people would go in on them together.

The only other "big" thing I had on my registry you hadn't listed was my stroller

I wouldn't worry about it. People are SO generous with baby showers and my Uncle's fiance who didn't find anything "big enough" to purchase for me left on the registry got me a GC with $$$$ on it and that was GREAT!
People who want to go in on things can also purchase the entire bedding set with all the accessories, or just multiple things. I also didn't really have anyone that went in on a gift together... everyone that got my expensive gifts were individuals anyway!

Re: Big things on your registry-

maybe put a nice umbrella stroller on there- like a Maclaren or something for when baby's a little bigger?

Upgrade something you've already chosen

If you plan to nurse- a pump?

If you registered at BRU go to Toys R Us and add something for when the baby is older

Re: Big things on your registry-

I really don't have big items. I have the SafeSeat, I forget how much that is. The humidifier is about $100, which I was surprised about. The Pack and Play is a little more on the expensive side, I guess. But nothing over $200. My mom already bought us the stroller and I'm not getting a glider.

ETS: just checked my registry...it's not the humidifier that I was thinking of, it's the bottle sterilizer.

I have such bad preggo brain todayChat Icon

Re: Big things on your registry-

The only thing over $200 is the travel system. Then I have a few things in the $100 range- newborn-toddler car seat, high chair, swing, basinette, pack n play, etc...

Re: Big things on your registry-

I don't know how you define "big things", but here's what I have....

The big things I have are 2 Britax Car Seats ($269 each), Travel System ($280), Pack n Play ($119), Video Monitor ($170), bedding ($190), then the swing and high chair ($99.99 each)

Is that too much?

ETA: I bought the furniture and glider myself

Re: Big things on your registry-

when one of our friends has a shower, all the girls chip in and buy all the bedding which usually adds up to a couple of hundred.

Re: Big things on your registry-

I have two things over $200, my stroller and my car seat.
I had a few things in the $75-$150 range but they have already been bought.
We already had purchased the furniture.

Re: Big things on your registry-

we have a few big things.
The britax car seat
The Maclaren stroller
glider
crib (mom is buying)
and the bedding- which is very excessive and bratty of me as it's $350 for the set.

Hi and baby dust to you. A glider is a chair. It glides and its for us to sit on and relax while holding/feeding baby. HTH
